Fixed Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) networks are ideally suited to commercial and industrial applications, in particular where it is desirable to gather data daily our even sub-hourly. Since 1995 we have installed thousands of fixed network metering points covering numerous industrial and city wide measurement points. Many of the automatic meter reading systems are now being expanded to include our latest generation of products that include network leak detection.
The major advantage of a Radio-Tech fixed network Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) is our open protocol interface standards. Being a meter independent company we are able to offer an interface to third party meters (subject to the age and model of the meter) and to provide system management data over the same network. This can include customer leak status, valve status, pressure and network leak data from acoustic leak detection devices such as the Palmer Environmental Permalog. The latter is now available with a number of Radio-Tech wireless options.
Using our new Interceptor technology we can even tackle meters in the deepest of pits / chambers in spite of them being many hundreds of meters or even km from the base station.
In the long term a fixed network Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) can cost as just a few Euro per year to operate, saving hundreds of Euro in direct labour and offering you potential savings in both energy and resources such as water. Also a fixed network Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) will satisfy those obliged to install a monitoring and targeting system under UK and overseas legislation.
