Radio-Tech has now become Europe's leading meter independent designer and manufacturer of automatic meter reading solutions targeted at both single and multi-utility billing, sub-metering, fixed network and mobile data collection. We have a diverse range of products catering for differing meter technologies including pulse output, rotating disc encoders, "Flag" port readers and inductive touch-pad types. Our automatic meter reading products can operate in tough environments - we have a proven track record in the dampest of meter pits! We now offer a totally integrated solution in conjunction with our sister company Palmer Environmental to include 24/7 on-line leak detection and pressure management.
Standard systems divide themselves into two categories fixed networks and drive / walk by automatic meter reading networks, the former increasingly popular and found on small to medium sized industrial / commercial sites to city wide areas and the latter often used in residential meter reading applications.
The start point to either system is the retro fit or meter embedded transmitter, depending on the version this will transmit the total consumption figure and or flow profiling information, allowing the end user to detect potentially wasteful resources or processes.
We also offer bespoke embedded radio solutions to meter manufacturers for inclusion in your meter! Our range of data collection and concentrator devices includes GPRS with Fixed IP technology. This permits data to be monitored live from the moment of installation via the Internet using nothing more than a mobile data terminal without the normal fears of security on the open Internet.
Our wireless systems operate using fully encrypted and error protected protocols. Operating frequencies available include the 173.225-173.375MHz (UK only), 433-434MHz and 868-870MHz Licence Free Bands and Licenced Spectrum from 150MHz to 220MHz and 400MHz to 470MHz. For UK Corporate Users we offer operation on our Ofcom licenced spectrum at 183.xxxMHz and 153.xxx MHz. Since May 2006 we have also been offering operation on the recently launched European ERMES AMR (Automatic Meter Reading) allocation at 169.4xxx MHz.
